 A new season will “officially” open Monday, August 18, 2014 with the commencing of the National Amateur Pheasant Shooting Dog Championship in Circle, Montana. A great entry of 48 was drawn for this stellar event! Updates and results will be available on the AFTCA website as available.

2014 AFTCA Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of Trustees of the Amateur Field Trial Clubs of America Inc., was called to order by AFTCA President Jim Crouse at 1:00 p. m., Thursday, June 19, in the Thoroughbred Center, Lexington, Ky.

Trustees were advised that the meeting was being taped for the purpose of constructing the minutes.

2014 All-Age & Shooting Dog Invitational Championship Winners

The National Amateur All-Age and Shooting Dog Invitational Championships are for the top 12 dogs that earn the most points in invitational points trials throughout the field trial season.  Last years All-Age Invitational Championship was held at Ames Plantation in Grand Junction, TN and the Shooting Dog Invitational at Neil and Sandy Walkers, Round Pond Plantation in Leslie, GA. Both of these venues will be where these Championships will be held again in 2014.

President’s Comments

The last half of the current field trial season is well underway. We have had some severe weather to deal with all across the country this winter. As we move into late winter and spring events, no doubt weather related decisions will have to be made. I would suggest that erring on the side of safety is much preferred when issues arise relating to safe participation of all concerned.
