Not seeing your dog’s Win Certificate?… or are your dog’s Invitational Points not awarded or incorrect?
Win Certificates that are displayed in the Dog Win Database as well as the Invitational Points standings are as current as the Essential Data Forms that are received in the AFTCA office. Typically, Essential Data Forms (EDFs) are reviewed, approved and posted within three business days of being received in the AFTCA office or posted online.
Almost without exception the primary reasons for Win Certificates or Invitational Points not being accurately accounted for are:
The Annual Meeting will be held in Lexington, KY on the weekend of June 22, 23, 24.
Committee meetings: Thursday, June 22, 3:00 pm.
Trustees meeting: Friday, June 23, 8:30 am.
Open meeting: Saturday, June 24 5:00 pm.
Purina Awards banquets: Friday and Saturday evenings
Please be patient as AFTCA Secretary Piper Huffman learns the new system and enters wins from recent Essential Data Forms. It will take some time for her to check all the Invitational Points your dogs have earned. If you don’t see them now, please check back in a few days. Our new online auto-fill EDF will prevent much of the inaccurate or difficult to decipher data that was previously sent to the AFTCA.
With the launch of this new website, there are some things that you should do to make certain that your AFTCA Membership is properly handled moving forward.
This new AFTCA website was designed to be a critical hub of information for our individual and club members. Its format will allow membership to more effectively receive, communicate and publish information of interest and concern to all. To say the least it has been a challenging endeavor, made possible by web design/development firm, The Sportsman Cabinet. The talent and efforts of TSC team have produced features that you will find extremely supportive of your membership.
At this year’s annual AFTCA meeting, it was voted by the Board of Trustees to implement a $25.00 annual Individual Membership fee. Any person that participates in any AFTCA sponsored event, excluding youth trials, must become an Individual Member. The annual Individual Membership fee will term June 30th to the following year of July 1 regardless of when the membership is purchased.
The AFTCA has given much thought to implementing a way of becoming self-sustaining; we have had various committee meetings over the last few years in an attempt to secure a business model that makes sense for our organization. Over the years the only way the AFTCA has held its financial ground is through our wonderful sponsors.
For clarification, AFTCA trustees approved 410 bore shotguns with safety blanks during the May 31, 2008 meeting. Concerning specified safety blanks, the approved motion reads:
A. Only specified safety blanks used in re-enactment events and endorsed by AFTCA governance may be used. (1/2 loaded-grey) safety blanks emit no solid material from the barrel. Judges may ask for verification of such prior to breakaway.
Having had a few inquiries about the recent recommendation for approval of the Garmin T-5, hopefully the following will clear up any confusion on this topic.
The Garmin T-5 has been approved by both the Field Dog Stud Book and the AFTCA for use in competition during the 2014-15 field trial season.
The Amateur Field Trial Clubs of America is pleased to announce the launch of their new public website. There are many exciting enhancements to the website including a new Member’s only area. Simply create a website account by using an email of your choosing, log in to the new AFTCA website and you will have access to this new exclusive section.
