Chicago, Ill. — It is more than three weeks since the governor of Illinois and the mayor of the city of Chicago issued “stay at home” mandates in the face of the coronavirus outbreak. These are tentatively scheduled to expire on April 30. If such did occur, the American Field would be up and running “full speed” by Monday, May 4.
As has been noted in earlier updates following the stay at home order (in effect March 21), the American Field staff, at this writing, is safe and well.
No weekly print issues of the American Field have been prepared since the stay at home order went in to effect March 21, and no date can be set for the resumption of print issues.
As mid-April arrives, attention customarily turns to confirmation of the season’s respective Purina Awards winners — Dogs and Handlers. It is unlikely that announcement of the 2019-2020 winners — All-Age and Shooting Dog — will be made until May 4 at the earliest.
In terms of the Field Dog Stud Book registration department, please hold off sending applications for litter enrollment, registration and pedigree orders until the end of April when FDSB staff will hopefully be able to process these orders. Thank you.
